Northwest 87, Pittsburg State 75

Northwest Missouri State withstood a head-turning first half from Pittsburg State to earn a 87-75 win Thursday night.

The Bearcats (16-1) led 44-39 at halftime despite the Gorillas making 69.57-percent of their shot attempts. Pitt also made six of 10 three-pointers in the opening 20 minutes.

Northwest was also efficient from the field hitting 65-percent of its shots in the opening half, and 59-percent for the game.

Trevor Hudgins led the Bearcats with 30 points, including five three-pointers on eight attempts.

Ryan Hawkins also put up 22 points and pulled down six rebounds.

Northwest's next test is Saturday at home against Missouri Southern. Tip off is set for 3:30pm. Pregame begins at 3pm on KXCV 90.5 and KRNW 88.9.
